We believe, that travel is not an escape but a renewal. Man can truly feel rested, if one can acquire a creative perspective over his/her life and surrounding environment. We really need this in this hectic century. We need to deepen within. To have time to think, but not sitting in a chair, on the contrary, being on the move, seeking and exploring. In this sense, we may say that “Travel is a meeting with ourselves“. Travelling we may “awake” from stagnant everyday life or from multitasking overload and feel the joy of the uniqueness and beauty, the strangeness also of the new lands that we personally set foot. When we travel, we discover new approaches to ourselves and to others. Then returning in our home and country-land we have found answers to issues, and strength to carry in with our everyday life and tasks.

We believe, че пътуването не е бягство, но обновяване. Човек си е починал истински, ако придобие по-съзидателна гледна точка за живота си и обкръжаващия го свят. В този смисъл пътуването е среща със самия себе си. Пътувайки ние се “събуждаме” от застоялото ежедневие и преживяваме радост от разнообразието, красотата и чудатостите на новите земи по които лично стъпваме. Когато човек пътува открива нови пътища към себе си, пътища към хората с които живее, общува и обменя опит. Azmarra Ltd. is a Bulgarian incoming and outgoing tour-operator and travel agency based in Sofia, Bulgaria. Both inside and outside our beautiful country the focus and dedication of our work remains the same – bringing cultural heritage and lessons from history close to our clients. Sharing the knowledge that we have gained and learned from Europe’s finest examples of art, architecture, exploring museums and diving deep into regional landscape, human and natural heritage, we are looking for the treasures behind the scene, the values and virtues that our forefathers and the leading men among generations have left behind.

Our tours are always designed with the view of the past, with a strong emphasis on the historical background and the heritage of the ancestors which shapes the future. The inventor of the gothic cathedrals in France – abbot Suger, who in 12^th century rebuilt the burial church of the French monarchs, the Church of saint Denis making it the first splendid architectural example, left us a strong message “The recollection of the past is the promise of the future.”

Nature is also strong focus in our itineraries and we strive to show our tourists the untouched beauty of the Bulgarian mountains and less-populated areas, which yet remain undisturbed by globalist policies and technology era. Mountain lovers, the ones seeking the peace of the natural environment may well consider Bulgaria for their next trip.

Wine-making is organically connected with our land and we incorporate it in our travel itineraries. Ancient chronicles testify about the skills of the Thracians – our indigenous ancestors, in wine-making. They used wine in their special rituals and venerated its “divine” qualities. Wine was mainly used in the cult to Dionisus – the main Thracian god. Dionysian cult was well documented from ancient authors like Herodotus. From Thrakia, the land of the Thracians, the veneration of Dionisus spread in Attica. Thracians were known as very strong and fearless warriors but also renown were their oracles and their mighty God. Ever since the tradition of wine-making in Bulgaria is continuous and we may say that before globalism 90% of the households in some rural areas used to cultivate their own vineyards and produce wine. Nowadays, the wine industry in Bulgaria is leading and our brand is well-known abroad for its extreme qualities.
